Shoot 1

With the current situation going on around the world I have chosen to document my house mates and what are daily lives consist of for the duration of these lock down. Throughout these project I just carried my camera around with me every where that I went in order to capture moments that were candid and natural. My plan for these images is to create natural and truthful images, using mostly my 50mm lens as I want to portray a deep depth of field within my images as the majority of them will be portraits. By incorporating a deep depth of field within the photos, I think that it will enhance the emotions that are going on within the images.

These images here were taken as Boris Johnson announced the first lockdown on the 23rd March. Not long afterwards one of my house mates went home, while the rest of us chose to stay as we are all thought that for our mental health and home reasons uni was the best option. Also as we are all a close house it seemed the nest option to stay and see this through. Within these images I wanted to capture the shocked faces of my house mates. I attempted to do these my situtating my self in the corner of the room and capturing there faces as he announced the news and further plans.

As you can see from these images the lighting in our living room is not very good, especially as it was a cloudy day. As for these I had to enhance my ISO with this it created some noise within the images. I tried to take this down slightly in post production but ur dint really help. These images I am not going to use for my final 20 as I think they are not as clear and concise as I wanted then to be. However, I do plan to use the first image of the 4, as I love how Jamie’s face is lit up by the glow of the TV. I chose to exaggerate the gloomy day and dark news by enhancing the cool tones in photoshop to really intensify his facial expressions.
