My project ‘Lockdown – 45’ began after the government implemented a national lockdown on the 23rd March 2020 due to the COVID- 19 outbreak. During the lockdown, I chose to stay at my Uni house with my 3 house mates and my boyfriend, as I knew this would be the best choice for my mental health and work. Isolating at Uni was the best decision I could have made as we experienced everything together during this demanding time as a unit; while documenting the stress, tears and bouts of laughter.
We live at the number 45, and I have had some of the best memories of my life in this house. We have seen each other through hardships and prosperity, subsequently making our friendship stronger. I wanted to show each of my friends; Maddie, Amber, Zoey and my boyfriend Jamie’s individual experiences, alongside all of us as a group. This time has been challenging and adverse, but it has also shown me how people can unite and overcome differences.
Blood isn’t always thicker than water.
