Jodi Bieber

I chose to look into Jodi Bieber’s work as she took a more humorous approach to lock down photography. Her project is based off of her husband in isolation and him dressing up in different ridiculous outfits each day and her taking portraits of him. Something that I have taken from her work is the way in which she composes her portraits and the symmetry in each image. She has managed to keep the background the exact same in every shot, which in turn keeps the main attention to her husband.

Also by having quite an intricate and bright background you almost forget that the man is sat there in these ridiculous outfits. I think that she has done this deliberately as she has positioned him to be placed at the bottom centre, framed by the pictures behind him. This in turn creates these bright, colourful fun images. Bieber has also cropped the images to be in a square format which I liked a lot as it helps emphasise the symmetry within the images.
