These 10 images here are my final shots that I have chosen to represent my project. ‘Lockdown – 45’ is the title of my project as it is based off of the number of our house that we live in, relating perfectly towards this project. I chose these images carefully and placed them where I think appropriate for the story line.
This is why I started off the set with Jamie watching the announcement of the lockdown, as I found it to be an introduction into what the rest of the few months were going to be like. For this image I deliberate cooled down the tones and made them very cold and depressing, representing the mood of the room and the nation at that point in time. This was the same with the second image as I wanted to capture everyones facial expressions to the news of the announcement. Those two images were both taken pre- lock down, this is why my other house mate Micheal is in it, he soon left to head home.
The first portrait taken is of Zoey sunbathing in the garden, something she has been doing this whole lockdown. I wanted each of the portraits to show something about each person individually, and capture them in the most realistic way. Something I tried to do throughout the images it stick to the natural lighting as much as possible and just enhance what is already there. This is why for images 3,4 and 5 are very warm toned compared to the first too, as I tried to replicate the mood within the group within the colour hues.
Images 4 and 5 were taken while walking through pittville park, I found it easier to shoot as after a while into this project my friends just got used to me walking around with a camera. This in turn made the images more fluid and candid as they forgot I was taking pictures most the time. The 6th image is of Jamie having his hair shaved. This is one of my favourite images as the window lighting highlights him creating this really nice natural image. Along with this I love how it is full of neural tones and nice inbetween of the cooler and warmer toned images. Images 7 and 8 were taken at the same time as I loved the lighting that was spilling into the window as Amber and Zoey lounge d around. The portrait of Amber is one of my favourites as the light cascades in the window and hits her eyes perfectly illuminating them. I chose this portrait for Amber as it best represents her sense of intelligence, she is someone that is always on top of the news and aware of the current situation.
Image 9 is of everyone outside the front of the house clapping for the 8pm NHS clap. I chose to use this image as it shows everyone talking to each other around the street and the road uniting in a way which I have never seen before with this street. Finally the last image is a portrait of Maddie looking out of the window. I personally chose this to be the final image as it carries on the project as it depicts Maddie looking out the window or metaphorically at the future.
Overall I am happy with how my images have turned out and the ways that they are ordered in.
